Structure of Universal Motor
▲Stator: consists of an iron core and an excitation winding. The excitation winding is connected in series to the power supply and is in the same direction as the rotor winding. Generates the main magnetic field.
▲Rotor (also known as armature) is usually a stacked iron core structure with windings. Connect the winding to the slip ring or commutator and connect it to the brush.
▲The commutator is installed on the shaft and is composed of multiple copper plates. Ensure that the armature current direction switches with the magnetic poles, thereby generating continuous torque.
▲Carbon Brush is usually made of carbon material and contacts the commutator. Introduce external power to the rotor winding to realize power transmission and commutation.
▲Bearing supports the rotor to rotate to maintain the stability of the shaft.
▲Housing plays a role in protecting and fixing structures, and sometimes also plays a role in heat dissipation assistance.
