High Reliability and Long Service Life
To ensure the motor housing complies with the 1.5MPa hydraulic pressure requirement of the GB 3836-2010 standard, advanced ANSYS design software was used for structural modeling and analysis of the frame and end shields. The frame is made of high-strength gray cast iron, while the end shields are reinforced with ribs and constructed from high-strength gray cast iron or steel plate.
To extend the motor's service life, the frame, fan, and other components incorporate advanced aerodynamic design and an innovative dual-circuit cooling concept, ensuring uniform temperature distribution inside the motor. The gray cast iron frame and end shields, combined with high-quality anti-corrosion treatment and surface painting, provide long-term protection against environmental factors, effectively enhancing the motor's durability.
Low Noise
Reduced noise and optimized airflow design are achieved through the proper selection of fan configurations. For IC411-cooled motors, the low resistance of the external airflow path allows air to flow primarily axially between the cooling ribs on the frame. The streamlined design of the fan and fan cover enhances efficiency while significantly reducing noise.
The internal fan is made of cast aluminum alloy ZL101 and can rotate bidirectionally. All 2-pole motors feature axial-flow external fans suitable for one direction of rotation. For 4-pole and higher motors, the external fan is a centrifugal bowl-type fan, welded from steel plate components, allowing bidirectional rotation.
The high-strength frame and end-cover structures, along with optimized stator and rotor slot combinations, further contribute to lower noise levels.
Efficient Cooling System
The YB2 series features two independent cooling circuits (see Figure 1): an internal cooling path and an external cooling path. Most heat generated by losses is transferred from the stator core to the frame and dissipated by external airflow. The remaining heat is removed via the internal cooling circuit, which also transfers heat to the frame for external dissipation.
In the external cooling path, airflow accelerates as it passes through the cooling ribs due to the frame's waist contraction, moving efficiently from the non-drive end to the drive end. The terminal box is positioned away from cooling ribs to avoid airflow obstruction. Additionally, internal cooling ribs are arranged around the stator winding ends to enhance heat dissipation.
High Efficiency and Energy Saving
The YB2 series of flameproof high-voltage three-phase asynchronous motors achieve high efficiency and energy savings through refined design and manufacturing. Compared to the YB560–710 series of flameproof high-voltage motors with equivalent power and pole numbers, these motors improve efficiency by an average of 0.8 percentage points, delivering significant energy savings and substantially reducing operational costs.
