Introduction to the motor structure
 

Detailed introduction to the motor accessories produced by Simo Motors.

Stator

The stator of this series of motors adopts an external press-fit structure. The stator windings utilize Class F insulation material, with securely fixed and bound coil ends. During the manufacturing process, the windings undergo multiple interturn impulse voltage tests and ground withstand voltage tests. Additionally, they are treated with Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) using solvent-free resin, ensuring the motor's insulation system possesses high electrical and mechanical strength, as well as excellent corrosion and moisture resistance. Special anti-corona treatment is applied to the coils, core, and frame, allowing the motor to meet high-altitude operating requirements.

Rotor

This motor series employs two rotor structures: die-cast aluminum squirrel cage and copper bar. In the die-cast aluminum rotor, the bars and end rings form an integrated unit, ensuring tight assembly with the rotor laminations and eliminating looseness, thereby enhancing operational safety and reliability. For copper bar rotors, the bars and end rings are welded using medium-frequency induction, ensuring high-quality and reliable operation. The rotor undergoes dynamic balancing to minimize vibration and ensure smooth performance.

Bearings

For models H500-2-6kV and H560-2, this motor series uses end-cover-type spherical plain bearings with forced lubrication. All other models utilize rolling bearings. The motors are equipped with an online lubricant injection and drainage system, allowing lubrication replenishment and waste grease removal during operation. The nameplate includes data such as lubrication intervals and bearing model numbers. Calculated bearing life exceeds 100,000 hours.

Terminal Box 1

The standard motor configuration includes four terminal boxes: a main power terminal box, an auxiliary terminal box, and two bearing temperature monitoring terminal boxes. Upon request, the main power terminal box can be installed in any of four different positions on the frame's ventilation slots to accommodate various wiring needs. In the standard configuration:

The main power terminal box is located at the upper right of the drive-end frame (viewed from the shaft extension side), with bottom cable entry.

The auxiliary terminal box is positioned at the upper right of the non-drive-end frame (viewed from the shaft extension side), also with bottom cable entry.

The bearing temperature monitoring terminal boxes are installed at the upper left of both the drive-end and non-drive-end frames (viewed from the shaft extension side), with bottom cable entry.

Terminal Box 2

The main power terminal box houses three M16 terminals and includes one internal and one external grounding terminal. The cable entry features a rubber sealing mechanism and anti-pullout protection. Sealing rings with diameters of φ64, φ57, φ51, φ46, and φ40 are provided to accommodate various cable sizes.

The auxiliary terminal box is primarily used for stator winding temperature monitoring and heater connections. It includes one grounding terminal and features rubber sealing at the cable entry. Sealing rings with diameters of φ20, φ16, φ12, φ8 (four concentric sizes) and φ7, φ5 (two concentric sizes) are available for flexible cable routing.

The bearing temperature monitoring terminal boxes are dedicated to bearing temperature sensor connections and are equipped with rubber-sealed cable entries.

Monitoring and Protection

The motor with standard design is equipped with the following monitoring and protection devices:

The stator temperature measuring elements are platinum thermal resistors Pt100 with a three - wire system, totaling six pieces. Among them, three are in operation and three are in reserve.

The bearing temperature measuring elements are platinum thermal resistors Pt100 with a three - wire system, with a total of two pieces.

There is an anti - condensation space heating system with a power supply voltage of AC 220V.

The leads of the stator temperature measuring elements and the heater are all connected to the terminals in the auxiliary junction box, while the leads of the bearing temperature measuring elements are connected to the terminals in the bearing temperature measuring junction box.
