Dec 26, 2024 Leave a message

GB30253-2024 "Energy Efficiency Limit Values and Energy Efficiency Grades for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors" is one of the national mandatory standards for motor energy efficiency, which specifies the energy efficiency grade, technical requirements and test methods of permanent magnet synchronous motors. This standard was issued on September 29, 2024 and implemented on October 1, 2025; it replaces GB30253-2013 "Energy Efficiency Limit Values and Energy Efficiency Grades for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors", which was first issued in 2013 and this is the first revision.

Changes in the new version compared to the 2013 version of the standard

PMSM efficiency standard

Compared with GB30253-2013, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes can be summarized as 5 changes, 2 deletions and 5 additions.

The specific changes are as follows:

5 changes:

(1) The scope of application of the standard has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2013 version);

(2) The energy efficiency rating index for asynchronous starting three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors with a voltage of 1140V and below and a rated power of 0.55kW to 375kW has been changed (See Table 1, Table 1 of the 2013 edition);

(3) Changed the energy efficiency grade index requirements for variable frequency speed regulation permanent magnet synchronous motors with voltage of 1140V and below and rated power of 0.55kW to 90kW (See Tables 8 to 10, Table 3 of the 2013 edition);

(4) Changed the energy efficiency limit value requirements for permanent magnet synchronous motors for elevators (See Table 29, Table 2 of the 2013 edition);

(5) Changed the test method for asynchronous starting three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors [See Chapter 6a), Chapter 5 of the 2013 edition].

2 deletions:

(1) The definitions of the target energy efficiency limit values and energy saving evaluation values of permanent magnet synchronous motors have been deleted (see 3.4 and 3.5 of the 2013 edition);

(2) The requirements of the target limit values and energy saving evaluation values of permanent magnet synchronous motors have been deleted (see 4.4 and 4.5 of the 2013 edition).

5 additions:

(1) Added energy efficiency rating index requirements for asynchronous start three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors with voltage of 1140V and below and rated power of 400kW to 1000kW (see Table 1);

(2) Added 3kV (3.3kV) and 6kV, 10kV voltage levels, IC81W, IC86W, IC71W (IC3W7), IC411, IC416, IC511, IC611, IC616, IC516, IC666 cooling methods, and energy efficiency rating index requirements for asynchronous start three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors with rated power of 200kW to 2000kW (see Tables 2 to 7);

(3) Added voltage of 1140V and below and rated power of 400kW to 1000kW (see Tables 2 to 7); Energy efficiency rating index requirements for variable frequency speed-regulating permanent magnet synchronous motors with rated power of 110kW to 1250kW and below (see Tables 8 to 10);

(4) Added 3kV (3.3kV) and 6kV, 10kV voltage levels, IC81W, IC86W, IC71W (IC3W7), IC411, IC416, IC511, IC611, IC616, IC516, IC666 cooling methods, and energy efficiency rating index requirements for variable frequency speed-regulating permanent magnet synchronous motors with rated power of 200kW to 2000kW (see Tables 11 to 28);
